File That Under Dystopian

A few months ago when I shared my favorite books, I somehow managed to exclude the genre I turn to again and again that never disappoints — dystopian fiction. They say that you can learn a lot about someone based on her bookshelf…

Since our real world is bumping up against some of the themes of these works, I thought that now is as fine a time as any to highlight what’s on my shelf, filed neatly next to a copy of The Constitution (1788) and The Federalist Papers (1788) to provide a counterbalance and remind me what we’re protecting. I keep Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky (1971) in the mix too. One must understand the playbook of those who wish to create a living dystopia in order to unravel the actions.
