Conspiracy Fatigue & the Lure of Deliberate Distractions
A month after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the spiral of rabbit holes seems to continue to expand infinitely. This has me pondering —
Why are we seeing so many?
What is accomplished by believing them?
Who benefits by people being this absorbed?
There’s a fine line between exploring possibilities and being engulfed in quicksand. With the onslaught of conspiracy theories making the rounds these days, I’m seeing that discernment and a foundation in reality have left the building.
For those who are watching the sand hit their knees, I have some questions —
Does anything change regarding the increased violence and incendiary rhetoric that intensified after Charlie Kirk’s assassination depending on whether or not Israel was involved?
If the taking of his life were an inside job by our government, is the presence of a deep state and the lengths they’ll take to decimate America anything we didn’t already realize?
Have you reflected on the nature of the legal process and what needs to be kept private to advance the prosecution for a court case?
Are you wondering about the motives (financial and otherwise) of the people who have a new theory or source on a daily basis?
Is this distracting you from seeing or understanding verifiable ways our country is being destroyed from the inside?
How much time have you spent reading the letter from Alphabet “admitting” YouTube’s censorship in order to comprehend that they in no way promised to stop the practice?
Did you pause to reflect on why Jimmy Kimmel was pushed on us as an erroneous example of stripping free speech and how that might be used against the public in the future?
We all have a finite capacity for information intake and the questioning of narratives. If you expend your capital in one area, there’s nothing left when you go to shift gears. So run down these outlandish rabbit holes along with theories that are more plausible, but reflect on where your attention isn’t going if you’re only focused on the unverifiable.
